The mission of the Georgia Family Planning Program is that all women and men in Georgia will have knowledge of and access to opportunities for optimal health care for themselves and their families, enabling families to plan and space their children to improve the health of women and children. Family planning is essential to the well-being of women, men, adolescents, and the community at large. It offers individuals opportunities to plan and space their pregnancies in order to achieve personal goals and self-sufficiency. In keeping with its mission, the Georgia Family Planning Program has developed strategies and implemented services directed toward the reduction of unintended pregnancies and improvement of birth outcomes.
Things to Know
Family Planning provides services that help prevent unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s). No one will be turned away due to inability to pay because our services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on income. We offer Gyn Exams, Pap Smears, Breast Exams, and Screenings for Anemia, Diabetes and Cholesterol. The Family Planning Clinic also offers screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections. We provide education on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, along with needed immunizations. Most importantly, all services are safe and confidential and available to you at your local Gwinnett, Newton, or Rockdale County Health Center.
We offer pregnancy testing as both a walk-in service and through the Family Planning Program.
