In December 2025, Rockdale Health Center’s customer service representative, Tamiko Cobb, was the first person awarded GNR Public Health’s Tulip Award at a company-wide gathering in Buford.
Tulip stands for “Thoughtfully Uplifting Lives & Impacting Patients.” Ms. Cobb received multiple nominations from both patients and coworkers that clearly demonstrated her significant impact. “I felt seen, cared for, and knew my son and I were in good hands. She’s like a warm hug,” one patient described in her nomination. In a nomination from a coworker, Tomiko’s work was described as “impeccable.”
GNR Public Health created the Tulip Award to honor non-nursing staff who do not qualify for the national nursing DAISY Award that recognizes extraordinary care provided by nurses only. “Non-nursing clinic staff, such as our customer service representatives, medical assistants, and laboratory technicians, make substantial impacts on the lives of public health patients, and we wanted a way to thank them for the above-and-beyond ways they care for the community daily,” said Alana Sulka, Director of Health Protection.
The Health Department is excited to recognize Ms. Cobb for the positive impact she has on patients and coworkers, along with the other GNR Public Health employees who were also nominated.
